I sometimes wonder whether I'm waiting on God or He's waiting on me.

From this end, I'm waiting on a new aerial which is taking longer than I thought but seeing as it's being gifted I'm not inclined to push. I'm also frustrated by the webcast as it has been playing up for a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, I'm getting a bit of a nudge from God to start writing songs, which is kind of weird, particularly as He seems to be pushing me into a certain musical style. I guess in that instance it's a case of God waiting on me.

In the meantime, as you will be unlikely to be able to listen to HIS-fm unless you park outside the church or drop in to our wonderfully clean and tidy Op Shop, Hidden Treasures, you might as well flick through the pages on this website and enjoy the songs on here. 

And, as I said on the main page, if you pray to Jesus then please lift this station and its ministry to Him.

]]><![CDATA[Why is it...?]]>Sat, 20 Feb 2016 03:06:26 GMThttp://www.hisfm.co.nz/blog/why-is-itThe computer I'm using to broadcast from at the moment only has 85GB of storage which means I am severely limited in the number of songs and programs I can play. Sharon's laptop has a couple of hundred gigs and she only uses it for camps so I thought, why not switch them over? Great idea. So off I go rebuilding a newer, better, stronger, more powerful HIS-fm (Steve Austin would have been proud) when the darn thing crashes and dies on me (insert sad face icon) 

Now I've just finished working two years part time in a computer shop fixing exactly that sort of problem so I know it could be a number of things from power supply to on/off switch to..... the list goes on. 

So anyway, if you hold your breath long enough you will get the new improved Steve Austin version soon along with a brand new music program that I hope you;ll like.

]]><![CDATA[Seriously, I'm smiling...]]>Tue, 09 Jul 2013 01:58:34 GMThttp://www.hisfm.co.nz/blog/july-07th-2013I hesitate to say that we're on air again, again, again but that seems to be the general nature of net casting at the moment. Apparently someone tried to hack the wandering sheep website and so certain numbers needed to be changed which took us off the internet. And of course it had to happen while I was away in another part of the country.

Add to that a nasty little thing called jraid.sys which keeps crashing our on-air computer and.. well, in the old days we'd say there was so much dead air you could have read the news through it. 

But let's keep praying that HIS-fm stays on air and that people tune in and hear about the saviour Jesus Christ because that's what we're here for. Whether you are listening in Katikati New Zealand or round the other side of the planet in India you need to know that God loves you and He wants to spend eternity with you.

(Again!)]]>Fri, 15 Mar 2013 02:24:36 GMThttp://www.hisfm.co.nz/blog/were-on-air-againAbout three weeks ago I had a phone call from James Totten at HCJB Global who said they were trialling internet broadcasting for their partner stations and needed a sample would be interested in them streaming HIS-fm?

Well first off, he needed to know why we weren't already streaming. (Well he probably didn't strictly NEED to know, but he was on the phone and it was a great opportunity)

I told him the HIS-fm was an outreach of the church to the town of Katikati, and seeing as the low power fm broadcast already reached most of the town there wasn't really a need to go online. 

Anyway things progressed and today, courtesy of Wandering Sheep Radio, we are streaming on the net. 

If you're listening for the first time from somewhere outside of Katikati then welcome. I hope you enjoy the program. God bless you

Well, apart from the new look website - which I hope you like - I had a call from a friend who I used to work with years and years ago and he made me a strange and intriguing offer. 

But I can't tell you about it yet.  

But I can give you a hint. Actually, no I can't even do that. All I can tell you is that this is something we weren't looking for with HIS-fm but are very excited to be moving ahead with.

As I write this the website is being created (thanks Rodney Franzoi from Te Rau Aroha Camp in Waihi Beach for helping me set it up and showing me how cheap domain names had become) but not yet published as that has to go through some other invisible www. stuff. Suffice to say that I hope and pray that thie radio station adn tehwebsite will be a blessing to all who come across it.
